Curriculum
At Haven Early Learning Centre, we embrace a child-led, play-based approach that is deeply connected to the world around us. Our curriculum follows Te Whāriki, New Zealand’s early childhood education framework, ensuring a holistic and enriching learning experience that nurtures curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
First Steps
We recognise how hard it can be for a mother to leave her baby for the first time. Our gentle approach for our under twos is to ensure that both mother and child feel safe and happy, knowing that their baby is in caring and loving hands. Starting with short visits, we gently introduce them to their new environment.
Nutrition
We understand that nutrition plays a vital role in a child's development - but we also know that busy parents don’t always have time to think about it in detail. That’s why we’re lucky to have our very special chef, Doreen, who brings passion and creativity to every meal and snack she prepares.
Lunch Box
Starting school is an exciting milestone, but it can also feel overwhelming with so many new experiences to navigate. To help make this transition smoother, we run a special Lunch Box Day once a month.
Forest Room
At Haven, we believe that nature is one of the best teachers. That’s why Forest School is a key part of our programme. In small groups, our children visit the local bush to explore, discover, and connect with the natural world.
